Rebecca A. Barrett is a Lighting Designer based in the Chicago area. 

Rebecca received her MFA from Northwestern University with a primary emphasis in lighting design, secondary emphasis in scenic design. She received her BFA from Ithaca College in Upstate NY.

Rebecca has worked freelance in and around the Chicago area as a lighting designer and lighting coordinator for the past 10 years.  Rebecca has designed several shows for Northwestern University including Pajama Game, You Can’t Take It With You, Never the Sinner, Glass Menagerie, Purple
Heart.

Some of her favorite projects include:
Golden Child (SRR) for which she received an After Dark
Award for Design/Technical Achievement; Dorian (Bailiwick); New Anatomies, and Impossible Marriage (Foreground Theatre Company).

Recent designs include:
Drunken City, Internationalist and Fat Pig as part of the Steppenwolf Garage Next Up Series. Into the Woods at North Central College and Paulus at Silk Road.

Strangers, Babies at Steep Theatre. Performances begin Jan 23, 2014
